Paint Curing Oven

Baking paint in an oven will not only make it dry faster but will offer a thick coating that is durable and resistant to chipping if the correct paint is used.

The cure oven raises the product mass and coated material to a specified temperature and holds this temperature for a set time. Typically 25 to 35 min at a set temperature is needed to achieve a minimum curing temperature for 20 minutes.

The final step in the paint process is curing. Many craft projects that need baking use enamel paint specifically made for being placed in an oven or kiln such as beads and other smaller objects. The primer oven is optional and is not used in a 3 wet paint process where the primer basecoat and clearcoat layers are applied after sealer oven and then cured together. Unlike infrared ovens that depend on energy waves to cure the product convection ovens heat the entire surrounding air which allows for curing of any recesses in the product surface.

For surface treatment in automotive industry paint shops such an increase in aluminum in vehicle bodies will affect the paint curing process for ecoat primer and topcoat.
